Win an Invite to the Microsoft HALO 3 Pre-Launch Party on September 24th!

halo-3-1 Can you name every vehicle in HALO 2?

Do you know how many Flood must be killed to beat HALO 2 on Legendary?

And do you "know what ladies like"?

THEN THIS CONTEST IS FOR YOU!

Thanks to the incredible evangelism team here in the South Central district, I'm pleased to bring you, dear reader, the chance to go to the Microsoft Pre-Launch party for HALO 3.  That's right, you will be welcomed into the Microsoft campus in Irving, TX on September 24th, 2007 between 6pm and Midnight and have a chance to play HALO 3 while everyone else is still standing in line!  You read that right, 6 hours of HALO 3 while the rest of the peasants are sitting outside GameStop just so they can rush home an play it.  The event will feature food and drink and everything you'd expect from such a prestigious frag-fest.

You can win this ticket to Master Chief Nirvana by doing two things!  Important, you must do both things to win.

  1. Leave a comment on this blog containing:
    1. Your Real Name
    2. Your Gamertag (No tag? Sorry, serious fans only)
    3. The reason you should win the ticket.
  2. Be on XBOX LIVE this Saturday (9/15/07) night, between 8 PM and 9 PM Central.

I will review the entries, consult the mystic oracle, and pick from among the comments the very best response.  On Saturday night between 8pm and 9pm Central I will logon to XBOX LIVE (Gamertag Gisben for those who are new here) and will see if that person is online.  If not?  On to the next best response of course!

111607-CortanaThe lucky winner will be given all of the relevant details for the event.

This event is being held in Irving, TX ... If you can't be in Irving, TX on September 24th of your own power, then do not enter.  The contest is only for the ticket to enter the event, not for travel or anything else.

And I remind you ... may your reasons good, this isn't a random drawing my friends, your reason has to be better than everyone else's reason if you hope to walk away with the prize.

Real Name: Jimmy StrubeGamertag: StruthioReasons I should win the ticket:I constantly monitor your blog.I work for Sogeti. And I attended your BizTalk session at Houston TechFest. And I'm an avid Xbox 360 gamer foaming at the mouth for Halo 3

#2 Leigh Sperberg on 9.12.2007 at 1:08 PM

Real Name: Leigh SperbergGamertag: PVenkmanReason: My kids are at the age when they think their dad is a dork. In order to shield them from that horrible truth, it would move me up the cool ladder a few points if I could attend a Halo pre-release party and give them something that they could brag about to their friends.Think of the children!!!!!!!!!!

#3 Ryan Brown on 9.12.2007 at 2:24 PM

Real Name: Ryan BrownGamertag: NecorasReason: I was in a car accident and have a broken collarbone. As such I will be a shutin and/or high on pain meds for a good portion of the next 6-8 weeks, assuming I don't eventually need surgery. A trip out to the MS campus will help restore my HALO-fu, as well as my faith in mankind.

#5 Jessi Rayburn on 9.15.2007 at 8:32 PM

Real Name: Jessi RayburnGamertag: I have played as HoboJo since "A Link to the Past," but on Halo, I am Folken. These are not actual XBOX LIVE gamertags, but neither is this an actual entry. I'm not enough of a Halo fan to throw my hat into the ring. Reason: First, you don't stink at Halo. Second, I cheer for YOU, and not your brother (a.k.a. my darling husband) when you are capping him in the head. Ha ha. Just typing that brings back awesome memories. Plus, it is the Tim Rayburn household where I learned that Halo is fun! Tell the Mystic Oracle I love her, and that she is an excellent teammate for a Halo game. I will always think so ;)P.S. - I'm really glad you are getting this opportunity! I imagine it is well deserved, and I think it is such a suitable excursion for you! You guys be sure to have lots of fun kicking butt. Oh, and who else thinks it's fun that there will be no smack-talking 14 year olds? Ha ha.
